SMART CITIES AND LAW E-GOVERNANCE - FONSECA

The project Smart Cities and Law, E.Governance, and Rights: Contributing to the definition and implementation of a Global Strategy for Smart Cities (with reference NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000063) is a research project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which has been developed since 2021 at the Research Centre for Justice and Governance of the School of Law of the University of Minho.Its object of study is the place of Law in the process of implementing Portuguese Smart Cities.In particular, focusing on the study of the protection of fundamental rights in the digital transition process in local public governance, the project includes the study of the rules governing the processing of personal data and those on interoperability, open data, and data reuse, seeking to contribute to the elaboration of a proposal for a Code of Good Practices for Local Digital Public Governance.
